Noble intentions defied bad weather as P&AUSE (P&A for a Cause) launched its third project for the year last May 31.
Despite the downpour caused by typhoon Chedeng, P&A volunteers trooped to the pediatric charity ward of the Ospital ng Maynila to distribute snacks, storybooks, coloring books and crayons to its patients. These simple joys momentarily replaced anguish-stricken stares with smiles that brightened the otherwise damp and gloomy hospital rooms. To cap the activity, P&AUSE presented a donation of Php50,000 as medical assistance for the hospital’s pediatric charity ward. The donation was coursed through the Give a Life Foundation (GAL), a non-profit organization which focuses on providing the proper medical attention as well as the medication and equipment needed by sick indigent children in various hospitals in Metro Manila. P&AUSE would like to thank everyone for their generous contributions and continued support especially those who spared some of their time to take part in the activity. Through sun or rain, there’s always time to P&AUSE. |

P&AUSE joined the Rotary Club of Makati Salcedo (RCMS) during its annual outreach program at the Senden Home for homeless boys last Thursday, March 27, 2003. Senden Home was founded by Fr. Francis Senden, CICM and operates homes for homeless boys in Paco, Manila and Binangonan, Rizal. It also assists in the schooling of 80 or so former residents who were successfully reunited with their families.
RCMS has been a benefactor of Senden Homes since 1994. At P&A, the Coca-Cola and Argosy/Warburg audit teams, recipients of the Founders' award in 1999 and 2000, respectively, have likewise adopted Senden Homes as a beneficiary. This year, continuing the tradition, former P&A manager, Gani Laguisma, who headed those engagements when still with the Firm, sent from San Francisco, California a balikbayan-boxful of children's books for Senden Homes through P&AUSE. P&AUSE was represented by Dang Santiago, Laarni Reyes, and Nyg Yumping together with the author. Senden Homes' wish list this year included computers, school supplies and bags, books and toys - and all these were fulfilled by RCMS and P&AUSE with a Jollybee party to boot. Always remember... you're never too busy to P&AUSE |

P&A for a Cause (P&AUSE) successfully launched its first-ever project last February 22, 2003 at the Municipal Hall of Gen. Trias, Cavite.
The launching also provided the venue for the contract signing between and among Vice-Mayor Luis Ferrer of the Municipal Government of Gen. Trias, Ms. Raquel Ascano, Regional Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Jojo Agot, a member of P&AUSE's Board of Advisers and Jing Villa-Real, P&AUSE Chair. It formalized the participation of P&AUSE as one of the main sponsors of the supplemental feeding of malnourished children. The project, dubbed as P&AKAIN, will be providing a hot meal per day plus milk rations to 30 kids with second and third degree levels of malnutrition for 6 months or until August 2003. The project's beneficiaries, which were selected by the DSWD, came from Sitio Caimituhan, Barangay Pasong Kawayan II, Gen. Trias, Cavite. With the supervision of social welfare workers, the parents of the beneficiaries, themselves, will facilitate the feeding program. In addition, DSWD will also teach the parents livelihood projects that will make them self-reliant. Once again, P&AUSE wishes to extend its sincerest gratitude for everyone's contributions and continued support, especially to those who were able to attend the launching. |
